After revoking Codex mobile access from Codex Desktop, ChatGPT iOS keeps stale Codex connections and QR re-pairing opens the old setup window / cannot complete security setup #22781
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
26.513.20950
What subscription do you have?
pro 20x
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.3.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
After revoking Codex mobile access from Codex Desktop, ChatGPT iOS keeps stale Codex connections and QR re-pairing opens the old setup window / cannot complete security setup. Furthermore, there is no way to delete old conversations on the ChatGPT iOS app.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: 019e16cb-c091-72c0-b6a2-c65661130af4
What is the expected behavior?
I can delete old, unused connections. After clearing the permissions on Codex, I can re-establish connection access by scanning the QR code.
It's imperative on the iOS app to logout manually while logged in. Even deleting / reinstalling / logging in won't clear what needs to be cleared. You must be logged in, then use the log out option to be able to go through pairing again.
Regarding the stale connections, there's a gist on my comment linked above that'll let you manually remove them from the backend.
Check system clock times on the computer and phone. I had this error on a phone and computer which had time set manually (2 mins fast). Changing both to automatic time fixed the Codex mobile pairing error immediately.

I tried to delete the ChatGPT App and reinstall, it doesn't help, the old connections are still there.

I found "Log out all" may help solve this situation.
