Description

@martin-ncs

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Version 26.527.31326 (3390)

What subscription do you have?

service account

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 23.6.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

In Codex desktop app, markdown links to workspace files used to behave consistently/helpfully.. when the side pane was added, such feature was taken off.

A folder link like [folder](/Users/me/path/to/my/folder) opens/navigates to the folder usefully.

A file link like [file.ext](/Users/me/path/to/my/file.ext) opens an internal side-view/file preview instead of navigating to the file in my browser/IDE.

Expected: File links should lead to the actual file location

It's fine to keep the existing behaviour as default, however there should be a way to choose the described behavior.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1/ Ask codex to print any file

2/ Click on any linked file

What is the expected behavior?

File links should lead to the actual file location
