Bug: Weekly quota not reset in July 14 global reset (8M users milestone) #33344
However, my account did not receive this reset. My weekly quota remains at 0% with a reset date of July 20 — unchanged from before the announcement. Other users in my network confirmed they received the
reset, so this appears to be an account-specific miss rather than a delayed rollout.
This is the same pattern as issue #27027 (June 4 global reset not applied to some accounts).
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Have a business workspace account with exhausted weekly quota
A global reset is announced by the Codex team
Check the Usage UI — the reset date and quota percentage remain unchanged while other accounts receive the reset
Screenshot
See attached: after the July 14 reset announcement, the Usage UI still shows 0% remaining with a July 20 reset date.
Expected behavior
Global resets announced for "all" users should apply to all paid accounts, including business workspace accounts.
Different reset type: Banked reset (must be manually redeemed) vs automatic weekly quota refresh
Different account type: This is a business workspace account, not a personal Plus/Pro account
Additionally, I've noticed a pattern on X/Twitter: users reporting that they did NOT receive the reset are predominantly business/workspace accounts. Personal Plus/Pro users seem to have received it. This suggests the global reset may have been applied only to personal plans, not business workspaces.
This also follows the same pattern as #27027 (June 4 reset missed some accounts). Requesting this remains open to track the business workspace gap specifically.
Additional data point from a Business workspace account that missed a later announced hard reset:
The usage dashboard still shows 0% weekly usage remaining and the original future reset date.
New Codex tasks are nevertheless still being accepted.
This account recently received referral/promotional usage credits.
Before receiving those credits, reaching 0% on the same account did block further usage.
This suggests referral or other add-on credits may be relevant to the failure mode. One possibility is that the hard-reset eligibility/application path is checking an account's effective ability to continue (including credits), rather than resetting the included weekly allowance itself. Another is that the reset was applied to a different balance while the weekly-allowance UI remained unchanged.
It may be useful to compare affected Business accounts by whether they had a nonzero referral, promotional, or workspace credit balance at the time of the hard reset.
EDIT: actually I'm not convinced that reset actually happened last night despite Tibo's Twitter comment about the 15m reset. Checked a coworker's account that was at 40% and they didn't get a reset either.
