Open

Description

@bordakov

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

ChatGPT (Powered by Codex & OWL) Version 26.721.41059 Released Jul 24, 2026 Standalone installer from chatgpt.com

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Plus

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

The Windows desktop app exposes a different context menu than chatgpt.com for the same cloud conversation.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open an existing cloud conversation on chatgpt.com.
  2. Open the same conversation in the Windows desktop app using the same account.
  3. Open the chat context menu.

Observed behavior:

On chatgpt.com the menu contains "Move to project".

In the Windows desktop app the same conversation does not provide "Move to project".

As a result, existing chats can be moved into Projects from the web interface but not from the desktop app.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: no-active-thread-019faa6a-c932-7e13-b715-9310ffed9679

What is the expected behavior?

The Windows desktop app should expose the same Project management actions for cloud conversations as chatgpt.com, including "Move to project".

Additional information

The issue is reproducible.

The screenshots compare the same cloud conversation opened on chatgpt.com and in the Windows desktop app while logged into the same account.

The web interface includes "Move to project"; the Windows desktop app does not.
