Windows — Codex unexpectedly closes at the end of a task, persists after update #41845
Description
await errorTab.close();
- "ResizeObserver loop completed with undelivered notifications."
- "IAB_LIFECYCLE iab rejected tab for route"
- "IAB_LIFECYCLE browser sidebar guest torn down"

English translation:
PROBLEM
The Codex application closes completely and unexpectedly when
the task reaches its final phase. I have to restart the application.
The problem has occurred at least three times. During the latest incident,
execution was interrupted before the final response was saved.
ENVIRONMENT
26.818.3698.0.
and use of a temporary development server.
OBSERVED INCIDENTS
Approximate Paris times, UTC+2:
The problem therefore persists after updating the application.
LATEST INCIDENT
The last confirmed tool action was closing a temporary tab
in the integrated browser:
await errorTab.close();
The batch of actions was then supposed to stop the temporary server with
Ctrl+C, but the available logs do not make it possible to confirm
whether this step was executed.
The application log ends at 13:32:50.395 UTC, after the
tab-closing events and the destruction of its integrated view.
Messages present around that time:
The ResizeObserver error appears 229 times throughout this
application session, not only at the time of closure.
EXPECTED RESULT
The application remains open, completes the cleanup operations,
and displays the final response.
OBSERVED RESULT AND IMPACT
The application disappears and the task remains interrupted.
The modified files are still present on disk. Two successful runs
of all 170 tests were found before the latest incident,
but the lack of a conclusion makes it necessary to verify again what was completed.
DIAGNOSTIC LIMITATIONS
The problem is intermittent.
No root cause has been confirmed: the browser messages and
ResizeObserver are clues, not proof of causality.
No Windows crash report specific to Codex or corresponding dump file
was found in the inspected locations.

I can independently corroborate this on Windows with a matching integrated-browser teardown sequence, and this machine retained Crashpad process-type records for two complete app exits.

Actual: the complete desktop app exits and active work is interrupted.
The teardown sequence and Crashpad records are strongly correlated, but I am not claiming they identify the lower-level root cause. Raw logs and browser-profile data are not posted publicly because they contain local paths and session metadata; targeted sanitized excerpts can be provided privately.
