App stuck in an infinite reload/refresh loop on startup (Windows x64) #43388

What issue are you seeing?

The app enters an infinite reload/refresh loop immediately upon opening and never loads the main interface. Meanwhile, chatgpt.com works normally in web browsers.

Multiple zombie ChatGPT.exe renderer/GPU processes persist in the background, locking cache files and consuming substantial CPU/RAM.

Attempted fixes that failed to resolve the issue:

1. Terminating processes in Task Manager.
2. Windows Settings > App Repair and Reset.
3. Full uninstall and reinstall from the Microsoft Store.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?

The desktop application should start up cleanly, authenticate successfully, and display the main ChatGPT interface without continuous reloads or high resource consumption.

Additional information

• Web version (chatgpt.com) on the same machine and network works completely fine.
• Troubleshooting attempts that did not fix the issue:
  1. Force-killing all background ChatGPT.exe processes.
  2. Windows Settings > App Repair and Reset.
  3. Clean uninstall and fresh reinstall from the Microsoft Store.
