[Windows App] New task shows a different worktree and branch in environment card #47801
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
26.917.9434.0 (Windows package version; About dialog not checked)
What subscription do you have?
Unknown
What platform is your computer?
Windows 10.0.19045 x64
What issue are you seeing?
When starting a new task after selecting the saved BlackDoc project and its dev branch, the task's top-right environment card displays BlackDoc-qa and branch qa instead. The task's actual execution cwd is the BlackDoc checkout, and git branch --show-current there returns dev. The other checkout, BlackDoc-qa, is on qa.
The task listing API also reports this task's cwd as the BlackDoc directory but its projectId as null, whereas the saved BlackDoc project exists. This might be related to the incorrect environment card, but the cause is not confirmed.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Have two Git worktrees for the same repository: BlackDoc on dev and BlackDoc-qa on qa.
In Codex Desktop on Windows, create a new task, selecting the saved BlackDoc project and dev branch.
Open the task and inspect the top-right environment card: it shows BlackDoc-qa / qa.
Inspect the task execution cwd and run git branch --show-current: they report BlackDoc / dev.
Observed on task ID 01a0d2cf-9821-7af0-a514-0404ab59e63f. This is one observed occurrence; I have not established whether every new task reproduces it.
What is the expected behavior?
The environment card and project association should show the same checkout and branch selected at task creation and used by the task: BlackDoc / dev.
Additional information
Related environment-panel/worktree mismatch: #28743 (macOS, branch display). This report also involves the displayed project/worktree name and a null project association on Windows.
The user supplied a screenshot showing the BlackDoc-qa / qa card, but it is omitted here because the full image contains unrelated personal workspace details. The local checkout paths and any access tokens are omitted.
