ChatGPT/Codex Windows app stuck on blank white screen with infinite spinner (26.924.2738.0) #49285

Description

@maloumalmal-jpg

Bonjour,

UI blanche, aucune interaction possible.

Merci.

    English translation:

    Hello,
I am experiencing a freeze when launching the new ChatGPT/Codex application for Windows: the UI remains completely white with a loading spinner that spins indefinitely.

    Environment

    App version : 26.924.2738.0 (x64)

    Package : OpenAI.Codex_2p2nqsd0c76g0

    Windows : 10.0.26200.9550

    Installation : Microsoft Store

    Symptom

At startup: white window + infinite spinner, even after several minutes

ChatGPT works normally in the browser with the same account

The logs indicate: Codex app-server starts, connection OK, ChatGPT authentication OK, runtime installation OK, but the interface does not load (suspected WebView/UI rendering issue)

    Steps to reproduce

Install the app from the Microsoft Store

    Launch the application

Observe the white screen + infinite loading

    Expected result
The application interface appears and allows ChatGPT/Codex to be used.

    Observed result
    White UI, no interaction possible.

    Troubleshooting already attempted

Repair and reset the Windows application

    Uninstall / reinstall (Microsoft Store)

Close all ChatGPT/Codex processes, then relaunch

Try another network + mobile hotspot

    Try without GPU acceleration

(Optional) Run as administrator / switch the agent to WSL: no effect

    Logs / attachments
I can provide: excerpts from ~/.codex/sessions and ~/.codex/archived_sessions + screenshots (after removing sensitive information).

    Thank you.

    @Steve06

This issue has already been raised on September 26 on https://community.openai.com/t/windows-chatgpt-app-26-924-2738-0-stuck-on-blank-screen-endless-spinner/1400979 and has not been adressed by OpenAI yet. As a paying subscriber, I find it unadmissible that I cannot use the app as the CLI is not an adequate substitute for my workflow.

    Additional diagnostic information:
I checked the Codex desktop logs. The app-server successfully starts and connects, ChatGPT authentication succeeds, and the primary runtime installs successfully.
Chromium Default/LOG and LOG.old are both empty (0 bytes).
The issue persists after fully terminating all ChatGPT processes and relaunching the app.
This seems to be a UI/renderer startup issue rather than an authentication, network, or app-server failure.
