ChatGPT Work: web history skips intermediate messages visible in desktop/cloud chat #49368

Issue

A ChatGPT Work conversation shows different visible message histories in the desktop/cloud chat and the ChatGPT web interface.

After earlier turns displayed "Turn ended by Auto-review. Add more context to continue.", the conversation continued in the desktop/cloud chat. On the web, several intervening user and assistant messages are absent, but a newer user message and assistant reply do appear after the earlier interruption. This is a gap within the history, rather than the web simply showing an old endpoint.

Observed sequence

1. A Work conversation encounters an Auto-review interruption.
2. The conversation continues with additional exchanges in the desktop/cloud chat.
3. Open the corresponding conversation on the web.
4. The web shows the earlier interruption and a newer exchange, while omitting intervening exchanges visible in the desktop/cloud chat.

This is an observed incident sequence; a deterministic reproduction and root cause have not been established. Auto-review is an observed preceding event, not a confirmed cause.

Expected behavior

Both interfaces should display a consistent conversation history, or explain any branch/sync difference and provide a recovery path.

Environment

ChatGPT Work; desktop app and Google Chrome on macOS. Exact app/browser versions have not been collected. Observed September 29, 2026.
