What issue are you seeing?

An existing Codex task cannot receive new messages. Submission fails with invalid turn/start parameters, including a simple acknowledgment-only message requesting no execution.

I submitted in-app feedback with diagnostics, then retried. The problem persists.

Feedback ID shown:
01a0f941-b6f3-7232-a9e5-7884dbbb7037

Expected: Send a message to the existing task while preserving its history and state.
Actual: Message submission fails.

Please investigate the task-submission failure. I am not requesting an override of execution approvals or safety restrictions.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open the existing Codex task with thread ID 01a0f941-b6f3-7232-a9e5-7884dbbb7037.
  2. Enter: “Please acknowledge receipt; do not execute recovery.”
  3. Submit the message.
  4. Submission fails with an error referring to invalid turn/start parameters.
  5. Submit in-app feedback, then retry the message. The same failure persists.

Expected: The task accepts the message and continues within its existing conversation.

Actual: Message submission fails, preventing continuation of the task.

Feedback ID displayed: 01a0f941-b6f3-7232-a9e5-7884dbbb7037.

No code snippet is required to reproduce this; it occurs through the task’s message interface.

What is the expected behavior?

Send a message to the existing task while preserving its history and state.
Actual: Message submission fails.

Additional context for the existing report:

    • The affected task is “Build Dev Control app”. In-app feedback displayed the same ID as the thread: 01a0f941-b6f3-7232-a9e5-7884dbbb7037.
    • The workstation was subsequently rebooted. Platform: Windows; the exact Windows build and current Codex App version have not been reverified.
    • Continued development preserved the source and produced a verified package, but operational continuation remains blocked because execution ownership is assigned to the inaccessible task.

Please restore message submission to this task or provide a supported ownership-transfer procedure that preserves its history and applicable approvals. We are not requesting an override of execution review or security restrictions.
