Open

Description

@lanceblais

What version of Codex is running?

codex-cli 0.87.0

What subscription do you have?

Enterprise

Which model were you using?

gpt-5.2-codex

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.1.0 arm64 arm

What terminal emulator and version are you using (if applicable)?

Ghostty

What issue are you seeing?

I am using codex with Wiz.io's remote MCP server. I'm able to establish a connection and use it.

After a few minutes of successful usage of the MCP server, I receive this error:

⚠ MCP client for wiz failed to start: MCP startup failed: handshaking with MCP server failed: Send message error Transport [rmcp::transport::worker::WorkerTransport<rmcp::transport::streamable_http_client::StreamableHttpClientWorker<rmcp::transport::auth::AuthClient<reqwest::asyn c_impl::client::Client>>>] error: Auth error: OAuth token refresh failed: No refresh token available, when send initialize request

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  • codex mcp add wiz --url https://mcp.app.wiz.io
  • Codex opens the browser, I authenticate
  • I use codex for a bit with the MCP server
  • Then after a few minutes, I get the error above

What is the expected behavior?

Codex maintains the MCP connection authenticated.

    @caljshin

    Does this happen if you try connect to a different MCP server that supports OAuth? I can't repro the bug since I don't have Wiz IO
