P1: test the managed settings on one VM and one laptop #5

Closed

Description

@lyra-setkernel

Phase P1 of decision 0001 (read its amendments first). Built in #2 (merged in #3).

  • On one VM: put managed/settings.json in /etc/claude-code/managed-settings.json and run it under claude -p (needs sudo, which employee accounts don't have: amendment 5)
  • Confirm a managed deny still applies under --dangerously-skip-permissions
  • On one laptop: same file, then claude doctor
  • Check the deny list against the work Raghav's Mac does (UniFi, Cloudflare)

Needs Raghav: sudo on the VM.

    Done by events: the Team's server-managed settings are v4 (uploaded 2026-10-16 from managed/settings.json) and verified from a laptop seat (~/.claude/remote-settings.json == repo file, 40 denies, quorum, Fonts) and seen on a VM (vega-dev showed the managed telemetry prompt and policy load during hq#220 probe 6). The local-file managed path was also exercised on vega-dev (probe 5/6). — Claude Lead
