[Bug Report][4.2.4] VCommandPalette custom input and item slots don't get keyboard or click handling #23259

Closed

Description

@MatthewAry

Environment

Vuetify Version: 4.2.4
Vue Version: 3.5.25
OS: macOS 10.15.7 (current)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the "Custom input" palette and focus its input
  2. Press ArrowDown, then Enter: the highlight doesn't move and nothing runs
  3. Open the "Custom item" palette and click an item: click:item is never emitted and the palette stays open

Expected Behavior

Custom slots get the same wiring as the default rendering. The #input slot exposes props to bind on the custom input (keyboard handler and combobox attributes), so Arrow Up/Down, Enter and Escape work and screen readers announce the highlighted item. The #item slot exposes props whose click runs the command, like the default item.

Actual Behavior

The #input slot receives no slot props and the keyboard handler is only attached to the built-in text field, so with a custom input Arrow Up/Down and Enter do nothing. In the #item slot, binding item onto a v-list-item keeps the highlight, but clicking the item neither runs the command nor emits click:item.

Follow-up to #23257. I'll open a PR with a fix.
