Missing automatic chmod +x for (new) native executable on Linux (and Mac) #20

Closed

Description

@vorburger

I've just tested #17 (thank you!) on Linux, and it almost work, but not yet quite automatically just out of the box:

2024-02-18 15:01:13.123 [error] Command failed: ./google-java-format_linux-x86-64 --aosp --lines 1:156 -
/bin/sh: line 1: ./google-java-format_linux-x86-64: Permission denied
 Command failed: ./google-java-format_linux-x86-64 --aosp --lines 1:156 -
/bin/sh: line 1: ./google-java-format_linux-x86-64: Permission denied

It's possible to manually work around this doing:

$ chmod +x ~/.vscode/extensions/josevseb.google-java-format-for-vs-code-1.1.0/cache/b2c87f2606337d06f5fd7f46f3bab3dc/google-java-format_linux-x86-64

but, in an ideal world, it would be cool and more end user friendly if this extension could do that chmod +x after it downloads the binary.

Windows does not need this. Linux definitely does. Mac I suspect also (but I haven't tested that).
