id phase-9/10 verification (split from #796): 9-2 web/terminal parity harness — shared JSON screen-cell corpus for Rust + vitest #5237
Parent tracker: #796 (id phase-9/10 verification debt). Split per #796's acceptance criteria ("split into its own issue linked from here"), routed by triage task 8090 on 2026-11-04 after triage task 7481 (2026-11-03) re-confirmed this item open.
Gap
P9.1 acceptance asks for "parity tests for web and terminal presenters", but there is no shared parity harness: the Rust tests (world_presentation.rs) and vitest (web/src/world-surface.test.ts) use unrelated inputs. Issues #724/#761 already showed the two validators diverged.
Proposed proving test (from the #796 child inventory)
A checked-in JSON corpus of screen cells — CJK, astral-plane, ZWJ sequence, ⚠️, non-empty continuation, wrong width — with the Rust verdict recorded, asserted equal by vitest.
Acceptance criteria
Corpus covers at least: CJK wide char, astral char, ZWJ sequence, warning-sign emoji with variation selector, non-empty continuation cell, wrong-width cell.
Rust test asserts the recorded verdict for every corpus entry; vitest asserts equality against the same corpus.
