id: design: note→board sharing model (from #5677) #5830
Follow-on design ticket from #5677 — its decomposition sketch names this as a separate design, and the parent's acceptance requires these tickets to be filed and linked. Filed in the 2026-11-04 gap pass (WS-F) so the design work exists and can be prioritised on its own merits; implementation timing is a separate decision, possibly months out.
What this design must settle
Embedded live references between notes and boards: version semantics, reply anchoring, backlinks/jump-through, and the cross-server case.
Context from the parent
The parent design fixes the note↔board reference model, the merge model, the sovereignty rule, and the approval flow for notes, message boards, and multiplayer editing. The parent issue carries the surrounding decisions this ticket must not re-decide; where this ticket's answer would change a parent decision, record that explicitly rather than silently forking it.
Decision record expected
Close this design with a recorded decision (on this issue or in a doc/ record linked from it): the chosen shape, the alternatives rejected and why, and the invariants implementation must hold. If the design splits further, file the splits and link them here rather than growing this issue.
Relations
Parent: #5677. Programme: epic #2056. Filed by WS-F (2026-11-04 ID design gap & expansion pass).
Expectation: Claimant's bound opencode session triages issue id: design: note→board sharing model (from #5677) #5830 at current main and records blockers/ordering or routes the fix; if unbound by park expiry, task 10233 returns to the queue.
Claimed by the OpenChamber scheduled lane after the prior handoff delay expired. Revalidating issue #5830, related project state, and the prior OpenCode handoff before deciding whether to proceed or park.
This is a design decision record, not a code fix: settle embedded note reference/version semantics, reply anchoring, backlinks/jump-through, and cross-server behavior; record the chosen model, alternatives, and implementation invariants here or in a linked doc/ record.
Respect the parent’s decisions on note↔board reference model, merge model, sovereignty, and approval; explicitly call out any answer that would change them rather than silently forking the design.
Prior handoff notes for task 10233 assigned it to the OpenCode claimant, but contained no session ID; the prior park elapsed, no matching session was found, and this lane revalidated before proceeding. No source files changed; local main was already at 6a06a926a0a0e1f3a1aac661fa65c5bab2b4aacb.
Queue triage complete. Findings and sequencing are recorded above. #5830 remains open; its design should use the notes/boards decisions now underway in #2048 and #2054. No code changes or follow-up task were needed. In-flight lifecycle labels were removed.
