Description
Parent implementation issue: #5525. Governing design: #2054 §2 and acceptance criterion 110. Existing signed Theme objects, board references and theme resolution landed in #3971; this slice is the missing client rendering/fallback work.
Blocked on the related design contracts being settled: #5858 (portable theme format/precedence) and #5679 (markup and styling model). Do not invent token semantics or precedence while those designs are open.
Scope after the design gate
- Render the finite data-only theme tokens/layout/assets in web and terminal clients.
- Verify content-addressed asset bytes and render safe defaults when a theme, asset or layout is missing/unsupported.
- Keep user accessibility overrides and the post/board/viewer precedence consistent with the settled design.
- Prove escaping/fallback behavior; themes must never execute HTML, JavaScript, CSS or terminal escapes.
Follow-up implementation slice to #5525; no theme marketplace or arbitrary styling language.
Acceptance criteria
- Gate: id: design: portable theme format & precedence (from #5680) #5858 (portable theme format/precedence) and id: design: Markup & styling model for programs-as-websites — semantic markup, style-override mapping #5679 (markup/styling model) are settled — no token semantics or precedence invented before then.
- Web and terminal clients render the finite data-only theme tokens/layout/assets for a board with an existing signed Theme (landed in feat(id): signed themes and layered board views (#2813) #3971).
- Content-addressed asset bytes are verified before rendering; a missing/unsupported theme, asset, or layout renders safe defaults.
- Escaping/fallback is proven by tests: theme content never executes HTML, JavaScript, CSS, or terminal escapes.
- User accessibility overrides and the post/board/viewer precedence behave consistently with the settled design in both clients.

Handed off to opencode claimant — task 10984, issue #6163.
Lane code-r claimed task 10984; §1b lane assignment returned
opencode. Re-verified fresh viagh(2026-11-06): issue #6163 is OPEN with no hard-stop labels (held,user/owned,do-not-merge,do-not-auto-editabsent) and no open PR. Design gates issue #5858 and issue #5679 are both still OPEN, so implementation remains gated per the task packet in any case.Checkpointed
handed_offwith execution_lane=opencode; parking task 10984 for 1200s pending the claimant launching the bound opencode session. If the claimant has not launched by lease expiry, task 10984 returns to the queue.dezren39 commentedon Nov 6, 2026
