Intel macOS: persistent blurred overlay in normal launch; --disable-gpu-compositing reveals UI but breaks colors #19930
This does look related to #18341 and #18774, especially the persistent blurred/translucent overlay on Intel macOS.
I wanted to add my repro details because there are a few additional behaviors on my machine:
Normal launch shows a persistent blurred/translucent overlay below the composer, hiding or blocking the expected home UI.
open -na /Applications/Codex.app reproduces the issue.
open -na /Applications/Codex.app --args --disable-gpu does not show a usable app window for me; the process remains alive and appears to consume high CPU.
open -na /Applications/Codex.app --args --disable-gpu-compositing reveals the expected UI elements, but the composer/input area renders as bright cyan.
The plugins page also shows blur/rendering artifacts.
Environment
MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019 Intel
macOS Intel / x86_64
Codex Desktop version: 26.422.30944
Electron: 41.2.0
Bundled Codex CLI: 0.125.0-alpha.3
If this should be tracked under #18341 or #18774, feel free to close this as a duplicate. I’m mainly adding this issue because --disable-gpu hangs while --disable-gpu-compositing reveals the hidden UI but breaks colors, which may help narrow down the compositor/rendering path.
