Bug

The Codex Desktop “Plugins” page renders with a large black overlay/glitch that covers the plugin cards and makes the page mostly unusable.

Environment

  • Codex Desktop: 26.429.30905
  • Build: 2345
  • Electron: 41.2.0
  • macOS: 26.4.1
  • Mac: MacBookPro16,1
  • CPU: Intel Core i9
  • GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630 + AMD Radeon Pro 5500M
  • UI language: French

What I tried

  • Reset macOS, issue still present
  • Removed Codex caches:
    • GPUCache
    • DawnGraphiteCache
    • DawnWebGPUCache
    • Cache
  • Reinstalled Codex from the official DMG
  • Disabled automatic graphics switching
  • Launched from /Applications/Codex.app
  • Removed quarantine attribute

None of these fixed the issue.

Expected

The Plugins page should render normally.

Actual

A large black rectangle/overlay appears over the page, hiding much of the UI. The rest of Codex appears usable, but the Modules d'extension / Plugins page is visually broken.

Screenshot

I can provide screenshots showing the overlay if needed.

Additional screenshot context: the visual glitch appears on the Plugins page in French UI. It shows a large black overlay covering the center-left of the plugins content area, plus a smaller black rectangular artifact over the hero carousel area. The underlying hero/card content is partially visible on the right, while plugin list rows below are clipped/partially hidden. The left sidebar remains rendered normally, which makes this look isolated to the Plugins page content/hero compositing rather than a whole-window render failure.

“Electron may have compatibility issues with Intel integrated graphics on Intel-based MacBooks, which can lead to rendering glitches or performance problems.

On macOS, you can force the application to use the discrete GPU to work around this issue. For example:

    open -a "Codex" --args --force_high_performance_gpu

Most Chrome/Electron-based applications can be launched this way, which helps avoid rendering errors or lag caused by Intel integrated graphics.”
