What version of the VS Code extension are you using?
0.4.62
What subscription do you have?
enterprise
Which IDE are you using?
VS Code
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.2.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
Codex Extension consistently fail when running on a corporate (work) network. But works correctly outside of the corporate network (e.g. home network).
Importantly, this does not affect older versions: Codex version 0.4.60 works correctly on the same corporate network, while newer versions fail.
The error occurs when calling the Codex responses endpoint and results in a network error followed by stream disconnection retries.
This is likely a network configuration issue. You'll probably need to do some debugging on your end to find the problem. I might be able to help with suggestions, but I'll need more details. Use the /feedback slash command to upload your logs and post the thread ID here.
The network team has investigated this and does not see any issues on the network side that would explain the problem. There is no blocking of requests or similar behavior.
codex-cli version 0.87.0 works correctly on the corporate network, and the same applies to the VS Code extension version 0.5.61.
Version 0.5.61 works, but 0.5.62 does not. So something between those versions broke that :/
We think we've addressed the problem. We'd appreciate it if you could try the latest prerelease version of the CLI (0.89.0-alpha.4 or newer) and see if that fixes it for you. Apologies for the regression.
@etraut-openai fwiw, I was having this exact problem after upgrading to 0.4.62 in the vscode extension on a corporate network and running CLI 0.89.0-alpha.4 does work again on the same network.

@kuburoman, thanks. We think we understand the cause of the regression, and we're working on a fix.
