epic(cluster): Cozystack platform #1087

Open

Description

@dezren39

Cozystack platform

Purpose

The Talos cluster becomes a private cloud: Cozystack installed, healthy, and upgradeable.

Scope

Install Cozystack (research baseline v1.6.4 - recheck at build time) via its talm preset path; platform health checks; the upgrade path and version-pin policy written down before the first upgrade is needed. Dashboard/API access via the tunnel/Tailscale design from epic 4.

Execution mode

Online: platform install and configuration are remote work once nodes exist.

Dependencies

Depends on epic 6.

Acceptance

Cozystack running on the first nodes with health verified; pin/upgrade policy committed; access path documented.

Structure

Part of the basement cluster program. Project home: planning/roadmaps/basement-cluster.md in this repo. Full program register: goal workspace files/idea-register-2026-10-20.md (Muse goal goal_ba17a5777c21). Detailed task issues are filed as sub-issues of this epic; dependencies use blocks / blocked-by links.

Hard rules for the whole program: no HashiCorp anything; everything bootstrappable from config, no hand-built state.

    agent-note:v1
    state: triaged (coverage pass)
Coverage pass 2026-11-03: reviewed in the fleet-wide per-issue pass (drift / overlap / already-handled / stale / blockers / ordering). Verdict: still live; queued in repo-health-code-pilot as triage at priority 30 (priority/none). If this is already handled at current main, the triage closes it with evidence; if it needs splitting, the triage files the split.

    Triage findings — task 7646, issue #1087

Verdict: still live, correctly blocked, no action available yet. No duplicate, no decomposition owed yet.

    Verified fresh this run (2026-11-03):

Next concrete action (named, not new work): when issue #1086 closes, issue #1087 becomes active — decompose it into sub-issues (talm-preset install, platform health checks, version-pin/upgrade policy doc, dashboard/API access via the epic-4 tunnel design) and re-check the Cozystack research baseline (v1.6.4 at filing) at build time, per the epic body.
